The Affects Of Stolen Land From Melanated aka Black People

The history of land theft from Black America is long and tragic, dating back to the United States' earliest days. The practice of stealing land from Black Americans has had a profound impact on the economic and social well-being of Black communities, and it continues to this day. One of the most egregious examples of land theft from Black Americans occurred during the period of Reconstruction following the Civil War. Many Black Americans could purchase land for the first time during this time, thanks to government-backed programs such as the Freedmen's Bureau. However, many of these newly freed Black Americans were the victims of fraud and deception, as white landowners and speculators swindled them out of their land.  This process, known as "Black land loss," resulted in the displacement of thousands of Black Americans and the concentration of land ownership from a small white elite (Bonilla-Silva, E.
