The Statististic Of Mostly Cuacasian People Killed By The Police - Analyzed

Preface: The following article's purpose is to take a closer look at the premise that white people are killed by the police more than half of the time(which is a fact). ABC Media Ltd owns the website Zero Hedge owned by an investment banker involved in insider trading in 2008. The article presented is not to ignore other races who die from the police. The paper's purpose is to highlight the truth and present the data.

"Daniel Ivandjiiski (Bulgarian: Даниел Иванджийски, born November 8, 1978) is a Bulgarian-born, U.S.-based former investment banker and capital-markets trader, and current financial blogger, who founded the website Zero Hedge in January 2009 and remained its publisher and main editor" (Wikipedia, 2022).

 The statistic highlighted is below:

The author's premise only highlights the murders but not the fact that black people only represent a small minority of the U.S. population. But let's use additional sources to have a more well-rounded view, shall we?

Washington Post

8,166 Fatal Police Shootings Since 2015

When I first read these statistics, and they piqued my interest. I wanted to find out more information about the subject. What about the number of black people that go missing every year when the police are caught on record covering up crimes?

How accurate were the statistics? Using the same source, the following was stated in a January 25 article (2023), " a Post investigation found that data reported to the FBI on fatal police shootings were undercounted by more than half." (para 1).

" In California, for example, only half of departments’ fatal police shootings appear in the FBI data."(Washington Post, December 6th, 2022)

My premise is that Washington Post data is showing a much higher rate of black people killed by the police than other races:

Washington Post

In simple terms, black people are a minority(13%) but count for the second-highest number of murders (26%). Hispanics share a more significant part of the minority population, but they were shot and killed less by the police but not by much less.

"Among all MSAs, the analysis found, black people were 3.23 times as likely to be killed by police than white people. Among MSAs, researchers said the figures "varied greatly."(Schwartz, 2020).

Another statistic highlights the significant disparities:

"Of the included 5494 fatalities involving police from 2013–2017, 2353 (42.83%) of the decedents were White, 1487 (27.07%) were Black, 939 were Latinx (17.09%), and 168 (3.06%) were other race/ethnicities, while 547 lacked data on race/ethnicity."

According to these sources, the rate of shootings of black people is higher than any other race. Granted, the number of killings is predominantly white, but there is a higher chance of being killed if you possess more melanin.

How badly are black people treated in the country that foundational black Americans built?

" Housing and Urban Development’s 2021 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) to Congress found that Black people accounted for 40 percent of 550,000 reported individuals experiencing homelessness in the country, despite composing only 13 percent of the U.S. population."(E
dwards, 2021).

Black people are the minority but represent the majority in many vital economic statistics.

"In 2021, 19.5 percent of Black people living in the United States were living below the poverty line. This is compared to 8.2 percent of White people, and 8.1 percent of Asian people."

"African Americans make up 13 percent of the general population, but more than 40 percent of the homeless population."(Data And Graphics, 2018).

The statistics highlighted show just how great the disparities have become, yet you have people who will not tackle the statistics. They attack the products of the statistics, which is a crime, and many crimes by black people are financial.

In conclusion, you are twice as likely to be killed by the police if you are melanated, and that is just a fact/stat.With that being said, the more significant issues are still the rapid inflation in the United States and the potential for World War III with Russia and China.
