Fight Against Leukemia & Cancer With Different Herbs/Vegetables (Not Medical Advice)

In this report, I’ll cover some of my findings from professionals in the field of natural herbs to help fight against leukemia, not necessarily cure it. Herbal remedies have a long history of helping to fight illness.
The following two tables list herbs with an antileukemic effect from an alternative medicine journal in various fields of study (Saedi, T, e.t. al, 2014).  




 





Overview Of The Herbs & Vegetables



1. Hibiscus cannabinus (Kenaf)
  • Contains various bioactive components.
  • Kenaf seed oil has antioxidative and anticancer properties.
  • Studies have shown that it inhibits cancer in rats, kills ovarian cancer cells, and causes cell death in specific leukemia cells.
2. Ginseng Root
  • Popular herbal medication in the U.S. and East Asia.
  • Main active ingredient: Ginsenosides.
  • Has anticancer effects: inhibits DNA synthesis, induces cell cycle arrest, and promotes apoptosis.
  • A particular ginsenoside suppressed THP-1 acute monocytic cells.
3. Euphorbia formosana Hayata (EF)
  • Taiwanese plants are traditionally used for various ailments.
  • Extracts inhibit the growth of leukemia cells and promote cell death.
  • EF has applications as an alternative medicine for AML due to its apoptotic properties.
4. Garlic (Allium sativum)
  • Known for its health benefits.
  • Induces cytotoxic effects on leukemia cells.
  • The active compound, ajoene, shows antileukemic properties.
5. Moringa oleifera (The Miracle Tree)
  • Multi-use plant with roots having antileukemic potency.
  • Ethanolic extract from the roots effectively kills AML cells.
6. Vernonia amygdalina
  • African medicinal plant with antileukemic agents.
  • Inhibits the growth of AML and ALL cells.
  • Plant extracts promote targeted cell death in leukemia cells.
7. Achillea fragrantissima (Af)
  • They are used traditionally in Middle Eastern countries.
  • Has antioxidant properties.
  • The extract has anticancer properties on certain leukemia cell lines.
8. Typhonium flagelliforme
  • She was known as a “rodent tuber” in Malaysia.
  • Exhibits anticancer and antiproliferative properties.
  • Effective against human T3-lymphoblastoid cell lines.
9. Grape Seeds
  • Rich in various compounds beneficial for health.
  • Grape seed extract causes leukemia cell death by activating the JNK pathway.
10. Pomegranate
  • Pomegranate have known anticancer agents.
  • Juice extract induces apoptosis in leukemia cell lines.
  • The acetonitrile fraction of the juice contains the main bioactive components.
11. Carrot
  • Beneficial against leukemia due to components like β-carotene.
  • Juice extracts cause apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in leukemia cells.
12. Ganoderma lucidum
  • Medicinal mushrooms are used for health and longevity in Asia.
  • Modulates the immune system and has antitumor actions.

These summaries overview each herb or plant's main findings and properties related to their anticancer effects, especially concerning leukemia. I’ve included a link to the source or more information. Have a good day, family!

Forty-six ethnic media news organizations in California have been awarded over $5 million in grants by the state to support media outlets serving communities where hate crimes are likely to occur.    The grant program is a collaboration between the California State Library and the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs. Six Black-owned media organizations targeting predominantly Black audiences received grants, including California Black Media, The Black Voice News, L.A.
